def main():
print("hello world")

main()
hello world

Comments:
Wow... profound!

Or better yet...

import pygame
from pygame.locals import *
pygame.init()
font = pygame.font.Font(None,60)
base = font.render("hello world",0,(255,255,255))
size = base.get_width(),base.get_height()
img = pygame.Surface(size,16)
img.blit(base,(0,0))
win = pygame.display.set_mode(img.get_size())
winrect = win.get_rect()
win.blit(img,(0,0))
pygame.display.flip()
while 1:
    event = pygame.event.wait()
    pass

I was going to post some PyGame/PyOpenGL code for hello world, but it(the code) looked all nasty when I got done so I decided not to.
